Chromebook Tips for Parents

Summer Reading Challenge Project

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As our students prepare for summer time fun and relaxation, they also need to stock up on good reading. We are pleased to provide your child with an opportunity to read over the summer! One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to help them develop a lifelong love of reading. This is a shared responsibility between home and school. The key is enjoyment! A child who sees reading as a pleasurable experience will enjoy reading, but will gain far more than just a pleasant experience. Children who read for pleasure have larger vocabularies, more background knowledge that supports new ideas, are more fluent, have better writing skills, and better comprehension. This year, our Summer Reading Think-Tac-Toe project will be a grade in Compass class so all students are required to participate. On the back you will find suggested titles for students to read this summer. The following suggested lists of titles, as well as many other titles, will be available to check out from the Bellview Middle School library during the summer on Monday-Thursday from 8:00-3:00. These titles and others are also available at the public library and local bookstores.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Bellview Middle School at 941-6080 x2004 or email Ms. Palasciano at
